dc.description.abstract | According to UNESCO, cultural heritage brings together “the whole corpus of material signs - both artistic and symbolic - transmitted from the past to every culture and, therefore, to all humanity. As a constituent part of the affirmation and enrichment of cultural identities, as well as a heritage belonging to the whole of humanity, the cultural heritage gives each place specific characteristics and is the depository of human experience” [1]. And the built cultural heritage is the most valuable part of the cultural heritage of each state, which includes separate buildings, architectural complexes and built-up areas (houses and administrative buildings, urban and rural mansions, churches, monasteries, technical and industrial facilities, etc., part of cultural heritage that has both a direct material value and a sentimental value. This article discusses the multi-aspect analysis of the cultural heritage built in the city of Iasi, Romania. It is no coincidence that the cultural and historical monuments of the neighboring country were selected for a more detailed analysis. This is due to the common history and the common cultural history. In most cases, the Republic of Moldova borrows the positive experience of the aspects related to the legislation in the field, of the institutions and bodies dealing with the protection of the Romanian cultural heritage, establishing and cataloging the objects that are part of the built cultural heritage. This article is the first in a series of articles, whose theme is the analysis of cultural historical monuments with their own history, architecture and monumental importance in the neighboring country, Romania. | en_US |
