Abstract:
The article briefly presents the current situation of the transport infrastructure, namely the national and local road network, their quality and density, while analyzing the existing problems. I will also present arguments related to regional discrepancies in the sense of economic development, I will analyze the volume transported by goods and passengers on roads in the Republic of Moldova. In the chapter Trends in road network development, I will present the strategies proposed by the Government, the contracts currently in force regarding the works that improve the general condition of the roads and the recommendations we have to make to obtain a better quality of transport infrastructure. The researched topic is a current one because it is absolutely obvious that infrastructure contributes directly to living standards not only by increasing labor productivity, but also by providing a range of facilities that are either necessary or desirable for human existence.
