dc.description.abstractThe European Union (EU) is the largest grapes and wine producer on the world. In the period between 2016-2020, the average annual production recorded 165 million hl. In 2020, it recorded approx. 45% of wine-growing regions, approx. 64% of production and approx. 48% of wine consumption. The wine sector is the largest agri-food sector in the EU in terms of export (approx. 7.6% of the agri-food export value in 2020).en_US
