Abstract:
The variety is an important factor in the sustainability of the wine sector, as it can directly influence the production of sustainable and quality grapes and wines. Certain grape varieties are more resistant to disease and adverse weather conditions, which can reduce the need for plant protection products and other chemicals, and this can contribute to more sustainable production. On the other hand, certain grape varieties are more susceptible to disease and adverse weather conditions, which may require a higher application of phytosanitary products and may be less durable over time. In addition, certain grape varieties may require more water or other resources to grow, which can put pressure on the environment. Also, choosing the right grape variety can influence the quality and characteristics of the wine, which can affect both consumers and winemakers. Certain grape varieties can make wines of higher quality or more suitable for certain types of wine, which can increase the quality and sustainable potential of the wine sector. Therefore, choosing and cultivating the right grape varieties can be an important factor in promoting sustainable and quality grape and wine production in the wine sector.
