The principles of restoration, although they are basic, general and permanent rules, need to be adapted on the o ne hand, as a result of the results of the executed works and, on the other hand, due to the new ideas that have appeared. Among the evolutionary directions analyzed, three of them generally determine their application in restoration today: the relationship betw een the past and present of the historical monument (conservation, revealing successive historical interventions), the relationship between the historical monument and its location (context, remembrance), the use of traditional materials and techniques), as well as the relationship of the historical monument and its users (necessary and possible function, information / training of visitors and researchers). The progress or regression of the principles showed the existence of a living patrimonial language that transmits the values of the past, the future and must be used by the restorative architect to clarify the principles of heritage protection. The result of this period was the importance of the period from the middle of the 19th century, when we have information and conditions for making progress in restoration such as: diversity of monuments, pluralism of views and ways of preserving the monument on its site, conditions for identifying principles and the doctrines of restoration, supporting the need to clarify architectural styles for aesthetic purposes, general experimentation of principles, recognizing the existence of confusion between conservation and destruction of additions over time, conservation and reconstitution, conservation and restoration or between conservation and interventionist restoration.en_US
